As a dad of 3 boys under 5 who rise early and often wake in the night(!) I don’t get much sleep!…
In addition to that I have always had poor breathing through my nasal airways since I can remember, so thought I’d try this chinstrap and see if it could help with the breathing through the night.
First impressions
I’ve heard of a few different types of snoring solutions, mouthguards and nasal strips in particular, but I had never been aware of chinstraps before. So initially I was a bit unsure for a second on how to actually wear it and also slightly taken a back by what the product looks like when on!
It looked and felt initially more like something I’d wear to play Rugby than to help stop snoring. I also wondered if it would actually stop me breathing!
Using the Wagisleep chin strap
In all honesty, it’s a very simple product to use and surprisingly not uncomfortable despite appearances!
To use it, you just strap it round the back of your head using the Velcro, and it’s stretchy too so one size fits all head sizes.
I’ve been using it for a few days now, and something that works really well is that, unlike mouthguards, strips and other products, you don’t actually have to do anything other than wear it. It’s comfortable on, and does what it says on the tin so to speak.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- The main pro is that it actually works.
- It’s not uncomfortable, despite initial thoughts.
- Simple to use.
- One size fits all.
Cons
- It can initially be an adjustment getting used to sleeping with something strapped around your head!
Overall thoughts
4.5 / 5.
It’s an effective product, comfortable and easy to use. Would highly recommend for other snoring dads out there.
