Over the last few weeks, we have been focussed on getting dads playing outdoors with their children more. Sudocrem’s research shows us that children are spending 45 hours on average each week in front of a screen, and only 5 hours outdoors!
We’re delighted that the DaddiLife Play More month has been in association with The Sudocrem Play More scheme, and Sudocrem themselves are actually going one step further…
Play More – Sudocrem regeneration grant
We need to acknowledge that having the physical space around us to get out and play isn’t always readily available.
In this context how can we make parents ‘more dareful and less careful’? Answer – The Nursery, especially community Nurseries. These form a vital part of a child’s and parents opportunity to get out and play!
Sudocrem Play More grants have been launched so that parents can nominate their local community Nursery for a £500 Regeneration Grant.

Here’s what a few had to say:
Caroline Gilhooley, Nursery Manager in Headstart Nursery in Edinburgh:
“We didn’t think we would have a chance of winning, we know the children will get a lot out of the new toys!”
Alison Bailey, Nursery Manager at Penrhyn, Walthanstow:
“We are thrilled to bits. Outdoor play is so important for children, even in a city with limited space, children have unimaginable amounts of fun out in the fresh air”
Jenny Etherington, Nursery Manager at Middleton St Mary’s:
“We are very much looking forward to the Toy Shed being installed in our outdoor area to help enhance the children’s experiences and learning. We want our children to learn to love the outdoors and we use our lovely environment to teach them, amongst other things, about keeping fit and healthy and taking care of our world.”
Covering the scrapes and cuts
Sudocrem is also licensed to cover scrapes and cuts. So if the inevitable fall does happen, don’t worry, that little grey tub of goodness is on hand to cover that as well.
