Summer activities for ages 1-2 (part 2)

written by DaddiLife 4th July 2016
Summer activities for kids - aged 1 - 2

Did you know there are only around 940 weekends from the time your baby is born until they turn 18 years old? 940 weekends. It doesn’t seem that many, and it’s likely to go by in a flash. If you haven’t already seen it, here’s part 1 of our summer activities for 1-2 year olds, and the fun doesn’t stop there.

Oh yes, we’ve compiled even more in a new list of different summer activities. Being original like we are, we’ve called this…part 2!

  • Build a Sand Castle: Whilst you are at the beach, you just have to help them build a Sand Castle. No copping out though – it has to have turrets, flags and a moat with water.
  • Go to the Zoo: Children’s books and TV programmes are full of fascinating and exotic creatures. What could be better than taking them to see the real things? A day of awe and wonder awaits.
  • Bug Collecting: Develop your kid’s appreciation for the brilliance of nature by going on a bug safari. All you need is a jar with a lid. Remember to let the creatures free after.
  • Snail Racing: Grab some volunteer racers from the garden, build yourself a racecourse and put your bets on. On your marks…
  • Scarecrow Festival: A popular event towards the end of summer, village scarecrow festivals are a great afternoon out with some very funny creations on show. Always lots to see!
  • Should rides: Every toddler wants to ride on daddy’s shoulders. By the time they’re two, they’ll be getting too big and heavy. If you’re going on a walk, grab the opportunity whilst you still can.
  • Water fight: Time for a good drenching. Fill up those squeezy bottles, load the water balloons and preload the hose pipe. (Don’t forget to save a few to aim at mummy!)
