Whether you’re becoming a new dad or you’ve experienced the whole shebang more than once, there’s always room to learn more on the fatherhood journey.
Or at least in our opinion.
While dad books are one way to go, dad blogs feature those little quirks and updates across an individual dad’s life that can help so many others.
So with that in mind, we’ve gathered our favorite dad blogs and bloggers for you to read.

What’s the Best Dad Blog Overall?
Honestly, even if you forced us to choose the best overall dad blog we probably couldn’t!
Each of the blogs we’ve listed here and have some great pros about them. While, yes, we do read some more than others, it really depends on your personality and the type of dad you are.
Some of you may prefer Wilder Dad over Geek Dad
Others, the Dad Coach over Lunchbox Dad.
So in short, these blogs are in no-specific order and we’d recommend you check out all of them and find out which ones resonate with you.
Best Dad Bloggers and Blogs
So without further ado let’s get into the best dad blogs that you could be reading.
Wilderdad
Steve runs Wilderdad, and if the name doesn’t give it away for you, much of it is based around mother nature and physical wellness. Countless studies have shown that both of these are important for your children so you’d be crazy not to read this blog. Unfortunately, he’s yet to post in 2022 but we hope he picks it up again shortly.
Great if you:
- Being out in the wild
- Lead an active lifestyle

Lunchbox Dad
Beau Coffron was inspired to create special lunches every Monday for his children. From Disney to Star Wars themed, and everything in between. A tradition he keeps going to this day, and you can check out his amazing creations on Instagram or his website. If you’re looking to spice up your kids (and wives) food, then look no further.
Great if you:
- Love expressing your feelings with food
- Enjoy getting creative “domestic dad” advice

Dad Pad
The Dad Pad was launched as an app that was developed with the help of the UK National Health Service and professional practitioner input. On the contrary, their blog has not received any professional attention however, it’s still great nonetheless.
In short, their aim is to provide dads with interesting and well-written blog posts about all aspects of fatherhood and parenting, from all aspects of babycare – including breastfeeding and bonding – to understanding the changes and challenges that both mum and dad will face as they move through the perinatal period
Great if you:
- Would like a strong focus on mental health
- If you live in the UK

Casey Palmer – Canadian Dad
Casey Palmer is a Black Canadian Dad which automatically makes him stand out from the others on our list. He happily embraces his heritage and has recently helped create the Black Canadian Creator Directory. However, he wouldn’t be on this list if he wasn’t a great father and he didn’t share useful information, so go check him out.
Great if you:
- Live in Canada
- If you have a multiracial family and multicultural heritage

Diary of the Dad
The Diary of the Dad is Tom Briggs’ array into the world of daddy blogging. The blog, which he started in 2010, is true to it’s word, it’s a diary. It’s got beautiful insights into the day-to-day of living with children from the ups to the downs. Content range from hilarious to insightful, and if you’re looking for some light reading you should definitely check it out.
Great if you:
- Love a good laugh on the day-to-day
- Want to get an insight into family life with 3 kids

GeekDad
Many dads, myself included like to geek out. So it’s no surprise that a blog called GeekDad exists. You won’t find much parenting advice here but geeky games and activities are far and wide. The site also features handy gadget tips and interesting crowdsourcing projects to partake in. You can also recommend their partner site – the GeekMom – to your wife. Similarly, here are some other mom blogs for you to check out.
Great if you:
- Are a geek (duh!)
- Love playing boardgames

Paternal Damnation
No one ever said that raising kids would be easy and Robbie from Paternal Damnation flies headfirst into parenting humor. Paternal Damnation is a mixed bag of content. There’s a range of articles from reviews to financial advice and help. There doesn’t seem to be any specific line but instead just whatever comes to the mind of the creator.
Great if you:
- Think your children are the spawn of satan
- Need help planning house and home

HighTechDad
As the name suggests Michael Sheehan’s HighTechDad blog is all about the latest technology and gadgets. Great if you:
- Like tweaking and fixing things around the home
- Want a parenting resource for gadget reviews

I’m Not Grandpa
Frank was probably bored of constantly getting asked the same question when he created I’m Not Grandpa. Granted, he’s not one to post regularly but his content is always a pleasure to read. He and his wife are also autism advocates so whether you’re an older father or have a child with special needs – this is an awesome blog to follow.

Great if you:

Social Dad
Like many of our dads on this list, James is a Social Media and Digital Marketing specialist so it’s no surprise that he’s got a blog – the aptly named SocialDad. It’s definitely one of my favorite sites as not only is it beautifully designed but it also has a huge range of help and information which James updates weekly. Additionally, if you’re environmentally conscious then SocialDad is a definite must-read.
Great if you:
- Like some insightful opinion pieces
- Are looking for a change in lifestyle

St Louis Dad
Richie Williams may be from St Louis, hence St Louis Dad, but don’t let that put you off. In fact, he provides financial pieces of information about childcare, finances, and more. Of course, if you are in the St Louis neighborhood there’s additional value but it’s a superb blog regardless.
Great if you:
- Live in St Louis (duh :D)
- Leading an active lifestyle

Designer Daddy
Brent Almond runs DesignerDaddy and also the Super Lunch Notes Instagram page. Since Brent is a gay dad you’ll find plenty of LGBTQ content on his website, and all in a tasteful informative manner.
